We love weddings in Philly as it brings back great memories of our college days and the pictures often capture the great history and culture of the City of Brotherly Love. I still remember trekking from West Philly down to the Reading Terminal Market on Saturdays to try all the different foods and shop for fresh produce.Continue reading
WEDDING FEATURED IN PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER!
One of the weddings DJ Mike spun this past year made it into the Philadelphia Inquirer! Mike helped Alison & CJ celebrate their big day at the Horticulture Center in Philadelphia and rocked the house with everything from Hall & Oates, Katrina & The Waves, and incorporating the Hora mid-party!

Lauren & Jonah’s John James Audubon Center Wedding!
Who doesn’t love a spring wedding with great weather? DJ Mike helped Lauren & Jonah celebrate their big day last spring over at the John James Audubon Center in Audubon, PA. Mike took care all their sound needs for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and spun a set filled with oldies, indie and hits during the reception. My favorite picture here has to be the robot cake toppers made from spare computer parts and standing on a heat sink (yep, we’re nerds too)!
Joan & Danny’s Kimmel Center Wedding!
When I first blogged about Joan & Danny’s wedding a couple weeks (see here), I shared some general details about the venue, the food, etc etc. Here are some more interesting tidbits about how Joan & Danny found us.
I first received an email from Joan (living in Finland at the time!) about 10 months before the wedding. I remembered her name looking familiar but was unable to put my finger on where I had met her before. As I kept reading it all became clear. We had spun her brother’s wedding in the Philly area 2 years prior and now little sister was getting married!
It’s always super exciting to establish a connection with clients that extends past the initial event. As we grow as DJs, we see that same growth with our past clients (often kids!) at their family & friends’ weddings & events.
It’s time like that when we say wholeheartedly, we love what we do!
Anyways, excuse my tangent. Sit back, relax, and enjoy Joan & Danny’s wedding movie produced by Tree of Life Films
Kimmel Center Weddings!
The Kimmel Center in the heart of Philadelphia is an iconic institution of this great city! And what better way to get married and celebrate on the top floor of this magnificent structure? Joan & Danny wanted to have fun & party, but pulled all the stops to make it a classy affair.
From the traditional Korean paebaek ceremony, catering by Iron Chef Jose Garces, and an awesome groom’s cake (aren’t they the cutest kidneys?), every detail was meticulously planned and executed. By the time dinner & cake cutting was over, all Joan & Danny wanted to do was to let loose and dance the night away!

The groom Scott and I (Taiga) go way back to when we were both young whipper snappers throwing parties in Philadelphia during the early-mid 2000s. So when he emailed telling me that he was engaged and asked whether I would DJ his wedding, I was IN! But enough about our bromance.
We helped Scott & Julie celebrate their wedding at the classy and ALWAYS delicious Del Frisco’s in Center City Philadelphia. Not only did we get some of the best wedding food in the business (can’t go wrong with a medium rare rib eye) we witnessed an awesome spontaneous breakdance battle including the groom himself (see below). Overall, it was a fun and memorable night that we were honored to be a part of. Enjoy these amazing pictures courtesy of one of our favorites (and a real nice guy to boot), Jeff Wojtaszek.
Congratulations Scott & Julie!
The University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) holds a special place in all of The Remixologists’ hearts. We all started our respective DJ careers on campus and have literally logged thousands of hours DJ’ing parties for student organizations, fraternities, sororities, museums, and university groups. We’ve become one of UPenn’s go-to DJ companies for homecoming and reunion weekend, and I (DJ Mike) was extremely excited when the University asked me to DJ the 10-year reunion for the class of 2002. While I always look forward to returning to campus and DJ’ing for my alma mater, this event would be even more special, given that it was the 10-year reunion of our very own DJ 9-Volt (Tristan).
The reunion was held on campus at the World Café Live!, and DJ 9-Volt and I made sure that everyone in attendance was able to dance the night away to many of the tracks we rocked during their undergraduate days. Not only was it great seeing so many long-time friends and familiar faces, but it was also priceless being able to play some “classics” from artists such as Shanice, Fat Joe, Cam’ron, DJ Sammy, Mario, Missy, Aaliyah, Nelly, Puff Daddy, City High, B2K, Cutty Ranks, N’ Sync, the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and Michael Jackson (just to name a few).
FAN MAIL like this is AWESOME! Michelle & Matt were so thrilled with Mike’s pre-wedding attention to detail (& charm) that they wrote him a thank you card BEFORE the wedding. Now that’s IMPRESSIVE! Nicely done Mike. You win!
We cannot begin to express to you how ecstatic we are that you are going to DJ our wedding. How lucky are we to know such a professional? Thank you for helping us pull everything together – we know that our reception is going to be amazing!
