Join our friends at Misha Nicole to celebrate their 1st Fashion’s Night Out tomorrow night with models, drinks, and us spinning beats! Plus they got some amazing street art featured at the store right now! Come check it out!
Misha Nicole is a retail concept store (clothes + culture + art) that recently opened in NOHO and they asked us to DJ their Sachin + Babi trunk show/cocktail party. Those in attendance included Indian supermodel Nina Manuel, actress/personality Neelu Sodhi (both pictured above left), and fashion photographer Shawn Punch. With the weather being so nice, I threw on some smooth goodness while folks sipped on sparkling wine and browsed the impressive storefront.
Using my new toy (Vestax VCI-300) for the first time (basically an all in one DJ unit… don’t worry, we still use turntables at weddings!), I was able to record what was playing with a touch of a button. Here’s a 20 minute taste of the smoothness (80s/90s/R&B) I was spinning that night… just in time for SUMMER!
Over 400 people packed the Providence NYC on a rainy Thursday night for the 4th Annual Taste of Success presented by Streetwise Partners. The Remixologists provided the soundtrack for the 2nd year in a row and we did not disappoint. On my short breaks from spinning, I made the rounds and stuffed myself silly with all the great foods (my favorite: tuna tartare from Buddakan) and drinks (MORE MOET!) from the wonderful sponsors that support this great event and organization.
After the event ended at 10pm, everybody moved to the downstairs club area and danced the night away. Don’t be fooled by the suits and and proper attire, people GOT DOWN on the dance floor! I am barred from posting any afterparty pictures… just kidding… sort of. 🙂
We had the most amazing time DJing for Plate by Plate back in October 2009. Plate by Plate is an annual tasting benefit put on by our friends at Project by Project to raise funds for Asian Americans for Equality, in order to provide immigrant assistance, affordable housing, and economic development to diverse communities during this economic crisis.
The food was awesome – chocolate souffle cupcakes from Kyotofu, tuna tartare from Geisha, and ice cream from Van Leeuwen…it was as if the best of NYC all crammed into one place on one night. The entertainment was pretty high quality too – we got to see a few bands, one of which is called Stone Forest Ensemble and featured a crazy beatboxer, cellist, violinist, and drummer…it was an odd combination to see but when they got up on the stage, everybody was like “WHOA!”
And of course, DJ Taiga & DJ Mike got people out on the floor dancing. That was when Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind first became an anthem for New Yorkers. I think they played it 5 times to that night and the NYC crowd ate it up. All in all, it was a good night… good food, good music, good times!
We just wanted to thank you for helping our wedding turn into an epic dance party! You couldn’t have played better mashups and the pictures prove just how much fun everyone had. We hope that you had a good time getting our Koreans and Filipinos on the dance floor as well. Have a great rest of the summer and hope to work with you again sometime.

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!
🙂 thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you 🙂
From the day we contacted you about DJ-ing, to the day of our wedding, you were truly wonderful to work with and made planning for the music at our reception so easy! Thank you for being so organized and for always reaching out to us to get all the details just right.
Throughout the celebration, everything was executed so smoothly, on-time, and exactly to our taste! We could not have asked for more. And the dance mix… it was AMAZING!!! We had SO MUCH FUN celebrating on the dance floor with our friends and family. Even the parents were having a blast! The music was non-stop goodness. Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing your talent with us! Our wedding day would not have been the same without you!

“You played all our favorite songs!”
“We danced so much!”
And other such comments were like music to our ears 🙂 Thank you for making the WHOLE DAY so unforgettable. From sound checking pre-ceremony to observing the dance floor and crowd constantly to spontaneously mixing crowd pleasers, we know all the credit is due to you. Those future artists and couples and celebrants will be lucky to work with you. We are almost contemplating a do-over… just kidding.
You rock! Go Remixologists!!
Thank you SO much for doing such an incredible job at our wedding! I can’t tell you how many weddings I’ve been to where the sound has been an issue, but things could not have gone more smoothly! The sound was perfect, down to the great wireless [mics] and switching to Jane’s instrumentals [for the live performance during the ceremony] and the slideshow/video. And as always the music was fun and current and really got the party started! You guys never disappoint and I can’t thank you enough for helping make our day amazing!
