Some weddings borrow a setting’s drama. Emily and Ari’s borrowed a universe. Their ceremony took place beneath the dome of The Franklin Institute’s Fels Planetarium, where an interactive LED sky was mapped with stars and planets built just for the two of them, a literal, moving night sky in the middle of the afternoon.
A Planetarium Wedding Ceremony at The Franklin Institute
The Franklin Institute’s Fels Planetarium hosts wedding ceremonies beneath a projected night sky, and Emily and Ari’s is a good example of what that actually looks and feels like: guests took their seats under galaxies that didn’t exist anywhere else, watching the couple exchange vows framed by planets orbiting overhead. It set a tone the rest of the night had to live up to, and DJ L’GiTT made sure it did.

A Soundtrack Built Around The 1975
For the reception, DJ L’GiTT built the soundtrack around a favorite of Emily and Ari’s: The 1975, mixed with good-vibes indie-retro favorites and warmer, new-age textures, so the sound felt nostalgic and forward-looking at the same time.
There’s something fitting about that mix happening at The Franklin Institute. Ben Franklin’s own legacy is built on the same idea: honoring the old while always reaching for what’s next. That’s the spirit DJ L’GiTT brought to the night, letting old and new sounds share the same dance floor. Rather than treating The 1975, the indie-retro cuts, and the new-age textures as separate parts of the set, DJ L’GiTT used them as the foundation for the whole night, moving between familiar favorites and less expected selections while keeping the sound tied back to what Emily and Ari actually love. It’s the kind of intentional choice that separates a good DJ from a great one; read more in our post on What Makes a Great Wedding DJ? Expert Tips.

From Planetarium Ceremony to the Dance Floor
Once the floor opened, it didn’t clear. The brighter, danceable side of The 1975’s catalog kept the room moving without losing the indie-retro warmth Emily and Ari wanted from the start, and DJ L’GiTT threaded new-age textures through the transitions so the energy built all night instead of resetting between songs.
